Deborah Glovier

I am a Los Angeles based artist and am continually addressing the webs we weave as a society.  By envisioning interesting spaces, I create conceptual art involving escaping abstract, sensual nudes, and controversial political pieces.  These diverse topics are insights to the process of weaving society.  This process investigates both the obvious and the under belly, never really telling what is occurring but rather requesting investigation.  The fibers are woven through individuals, groups, and life, one of my fibers appears in my signature, where you may find Deborah or Delilah.  Delilah is a tag or "character" as I like to call it, most often reserved for voluptuous nudes-Once again, weaving another layer to evolution.

CHAINS

CHAINS is the center piece for my first complete yet evolving body of work, Chains of T-N-A.  Included in Chains of T-N-A are CHAINS, MY ASS, and BROKEN CHAINS, all combining the female form and objects of steel exuding erotic sensulity while exploring the beauty of strength and feminity.  Charcoal is blended softly in representation of the female form, while the images are held together by galvanized steel and plexi-glass.

In life there are Chains attached to everything, it is up to you to decide what you are going to do with them.

 IMAGES
To make or produce a likeness of.    To mirror or reflect.  To symbolize or typify.
To picture mentally; imagine.

The IMAGES collection is oversized with a focus on creating modern visualization.  As our public environments become increasingly "busy", with constant in your face marketing our chosen spaces are in need of calming subdued images that lead the viewer to be open for their own interpretation and visualization.  The emotions felt from viewing television, reading newspapers, magazines and billboards are programmed into society by interpreted market research of both the demographic and the said product.  IMAGES is being created to conjure up a thought or visual escape for the viewer, however allowing the viewer to interpret the image into anything they can dream or imagine.  Thus, allowing the viewer to "create" their own interpretation and escape the robotic status driven society we are becoming.

The blending of the colors represents the blending of society.  This blending is occurring because we are all starting to move at the speed of light and not realizing the good fortunes we are blessed with (and yes we are ALL blessed in one fashion or another).  These IMAGES are intended to allow the viewer to have a clairvoyant experience that involves joy, anger, peace, disruption, judgement, passion, and every emotion imaginable.  The emotions have the ability to be as varied as the viewers are at various times of the day.
